Vanilla Sky (2001)
This has always been at the bottom for me of all Cameron Crowe movies. Coming off the warmth of Almost Famous it would be hard to follow that up with anything. While this movie has moments it just always feels cold against everything else Cameron Crowe has done.

We Bought a Zoo (2011)
Absolutely a delight of a movie. Fits somewhere in the middle of all of Cameron Crowe’s movies. While not an original idea of his it is still far more warm than Vanilla Sky. Cheesy in that wonderful way that only he does.

Almost Famous (2000)
There are certain movies that when I need a smile i know what to play . Almost Famous is one of the films on a short list . The movies usually go in cycles but always have that same comfort food feeling . I remember back to middle school when the Marx Brothers gave me the same warm smiles on some of the worst days . Later on Almost famous , Rushmore , Amelie and Escape From New York also had the same feel . Since I first saw the movie this passage has always stuck with me :
LESTER BANGS
That's because we are uncool! And
while women will always be a problem for
guys like us, most of the great art in
the world is about that very problem.
Good-looking people have no spine!
Their art never lasts! They get the
girls, but we're smarter.
WILLIAM
I can really see that now.

love... and let's face it, you got a
